Carbon fibre, is a material consisting of extremely thin
fibers , fibres are twisted together to form a yarn, which is woven into
a fabric. Carbon fibre has many different weave patterns and is combined
with a plastic resin and molded to form composite materials such as
carbon fibre reinforced plastic (also refered to as carbon fibre) to
provide a high strength-to-weight ratio material. However, it is
relatively expensive when compared to similar materials such as
fiberglass or plastic. Carbon fibre is very strong when stretched or
bent, but weak when compressed or exposed to high shock (e.g. a carbon
fibre prop is extremely difficult to bend, but will crack easily if
impacted). When the carbon fibre is woven into cloth, the tensile
strength drops roughly in half as half the fibers are strong in one
direction and half are strong in the other direction. |

| Why fibre glass when carbon fibre is lighter
and stronger? The carbon fibre props are only about 50g
lighter, they are stronger, but glass fibre is more than strong enough, much
stronger than wood. Glass fibre is less expensive than carbon fibre and provides
the same precise balancing and performance. |

Just before i ask about another prop, i would like to say the
fibreglass prop for my snap100ego is one of the best props i have ever used in
11yrs of flying paramotors!!............., how much would a 3 blade prop be for
the snap100ego? its worth asking as your prices are very fair. Best i have seen
in the uk.
